I spent a good chunk of time on this topic, “suit horse” you might call it. It was quite a journey, and I’m here to spill the beans on how it all went down.

First off, I started by gathering my stuff. I made sure I had a good saddle, you know, one that wouldn’t give me or the horse any trouble. Checked it over for any damage. Then, I grabbed a saddle pad, a clean one of course. Gotta keep things tidy, right?
- Getting the horse ready came next. I made sure the horse was cool with everything. I mean, you want a horse that’s chill and ready to work with you. Their ears were forward, and they seemed pretty happy, so that was a good sign.
- Then I threw the saddle pad over its back, making sure it was all smooth and comfy. After that, I carefully placed the saddle on top. No rough stuff, just nice and easy.
Once the saddle was on, I started tightening the girth, bit by bit. I didn’t want to freak the horse out by doing it too fast. And I definitely didn’t want it too loose either, ’cause that’s just asking for trouble.
After everything was all set with the saddle, I hopped on. I made sure to sit up straight, kept my heels down, and held the reins like I meant it. Not too tight, though. Just enough to guide the horse.
- I practiced walking, trotting, all that jazz. Used my legs and my seat to tell the horse what I wanted. We were communicating, you know?
- And when it was time to slow down, I just pulled back on the reins gently and sat back a bit. Worked like a charm.
The whole thing was about being gentle and paying attention to the horse. It’s a partnership, and you gotta respect that.
So, after all that, what did I learn?
Well, it’s not just about slapping a saddle on a horse and going for a ride. It’s about making sure both of you are comfortable and safe. And it’s about understanding each other, even without words.

It was a good day. I learned a lot, and I think the horse did too. We both got a good workout, and there’s nothing like feeling that connection with an animal. It’s pretty awesome, if you ask me.
Anyway, that’s my story. Hope you got something out of it. If you ever get the chance to saddle up a horse, just remember what I said. Be gentle, be patient, and enjoy the ride.
