Alright, so I wanted to mess around with this “water id unturned” thing I kept hearing about. Basically, the idea is to flip a water bottle in a way that it… doesn’t flip? Or something like that. I wasn’t entirely sure, but it sounded like a fun little challenge.

First, I grabbed a regular plastic water bottle, the kind you get from any vending machine. I made sure it was about halfway full – I figured that would give it some weight but not make it too top-heavy. I emptied out some water to get it just right. This took a couple of tries, spilling a bit on the counter in the process. Oops.

Next, I started experimenting with different grips. I tried holding it by the neck, by the middle, even by the very bottom. Each time, I gave it a gentle toss, trying to get that “unturned” effect. Most of the time, it just did a normal flip and landed on its side or cap. Nothing special.

My Attempts:

  • Holding by the neck: Nope. Just a regular flip.
  • Holding by the middle: Still flipping.
  • Holding by the bottom: Felt weird, still flipped.

I kept at it for a good 20 minutes, I think. My kitchen floor became a bit of a splash zone, but I was determined. I started to feel like I was getting closer with a sort of sideways flick of the wrist. Instead of tossing it up, I tried to almost… slide it? It’s hard to explain.

Then, finally, it happened! I flicked the bottle, and it did this weird, slow rotation in the air. It didn’t complete a full flip, but it kind of… wobbled and landed upright! It wasn’t perfectly still – it definitely wobbled a bit – but it stayed up!

I tried it again, and again, and again. I managed to get it to land upright a few more times, but it definitely wasn’t consistent. I think it’s more about luck than any real skill, at least for me. I wouldn’t call my result the actual water id unturned, but I got some fun from the experiment.

So, that was my “water id unturned” adventure. More like “water bottle slightly less flipped,” but hey, it was a fun way to waste an afternoon. And I learned that I’m not very good at bottle flipping, unturned or otherwise. I cleaned up water on the floor, and enjoyed my sucessful moment.
