Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with the “New World” character creator, specifically the hair options. Let me tell you, it’s been a journey.

I started by just jumping right in. You know, the usual – fired up the game, went straight to create a new character. I figured, “How hard can it be to change the hair?” Turns out, it’s not hard, but there are some… quirks.
Finding the Options
First off, finding where to even change the hair. It’s not super obvious at first * get all these other options like face shape, eye color, scars, and whatnot, all clearly labeled. The hair options are kinda tucked away in a sub-menu.
- I clicked on the “Body” tab, expecting to find it there. Nope.
- Then I tried the “Face” tab. Closer, but still no.
- Finally, I found it! Under the “Face” tab, there’s another little tab that looks like a pair of scissors. That’s the one!
The Actual Changing
Once I was in the right place, it was relatively straightforward.
I scrolled through the different hairstyles. There’s a decent selection, some long, some short, some… well, let’s just say interesting choices.I picked one that looked kinda cool, a messy braid thing.

Then came the colors. Again, a bunch of options, from natural browns and blacks to some wilder colors like bright blue and green. I went with a dark brown, keeping it * is a little bit boring, but there are some really crazy ones.
You can also add highlights! Which is a nice touch. I played around with that for a bit, adding some lighter streaks to the braid. Made it look a bit more… dimensional, I guess.
The Final Result
After a bit more tweaking – I adjusted the hair texture a bit, made it a little less shiny – I was pretty happy with the result. My character looked… well, like they had decent hair, at least.
It took me about 10 minutes to get right, but now my character looks totally different!

So, yeah, that’s my experience with changing hair in “New World”. Not rocket science, but a few little things to figure out along the way.
