Well, that Tony Stewart, he sure was somethin’ on that racetrack, wasn’t he? I remember that one time, back in 2005, he was racin’ at that Watkins Glen place. That track, it’s all twisty and turny, not like them big ovals. But Tony, he didn’t care. He was like a wild horse let loose in a cornfield.

Tony Stewart and Watkins Glen in 2005

Back in 2005, I tell ya, that was a year for Tony. That race, it was called the “Sirius Satellite Radio at The Glen”, fancy name for a race, huh? They held it on a Sunday, like most of ’em. He was driving that car of his, number 20, I think it was. Zoomin’ around that track like a fly at a picnic. He loved the racing at Watkins Glen.

I heard some folks talkin’ about it later. They said that Tony Stewart at Watkins Glen was a sight to see. Said he was the best driver there. They had all them numbers and things, talkin’ about laps and whatnot. All I know is he was fast, faster than a greased piglet at the county fair.

  • He won that race, you know.
  • That was his third win at Watkins Glen.
  • He won there five times in total, they say.
  • Tony Stewart was king of Watkins Glen.

He was just a natural, that Tony. Like he was born with a steering wheel in his hand. He won at other places too, like that Daytona place. That’s a big one, they say. But Watkins Glen, that was his special place, I reckon. He was like a fish in water there, just glidin’ around them corners.

That race in 2005, some fella named Mears, he was in the lead for a while. But Tony, he was like a hawk eyein’ a rabbit. He just kept gettin’ closer and closer. Then, whoosh, he passed him! Just like that. Left him in the dust, I tell ya.

Tony Stewart’s Wins at the Glen

They say that win in 2005 made Tony the winnin’est driver at Watkins Glen. Five wins! Can you believe that? That’s more than anyone else. He was like the king of that track, wearin’ an invisible crown and everything.

And he kept on racin’ for a long time after that. Winning here and there. But that 2005 race at Watkins Glen, that was a special one. One for the books, as they say. I reckon folks will be talkin’ about that one for a long, long time.

They had these fancy radios, Sirius Satellite or somethin’. I don’t know nothin’ about that. But I know racin’. And I know Tony Stewart was a darn good racer. Especially at that Watkins Glen place. He was somethin’ else, that’s for sure.

  • 2005 was a big year for Tony.
  • He won at Daytona, too.
  • But Watkins Glen was his best track.
  • Five wins there! That’s a lot!

It was around August, I think. Hotter than a firecracker. But that didn’t slow down Tony. Nope. He was like a train on a downhill track. Nothin’ was gonna stop him from winning that race. He was the best driver on Watkins Glen that day.

I remember folks sayin’ that was his third win at the Glen. And he went on to win a couple more times there, after 2005. He just kept on winning. I’d wager he could drive that track with his eyes closed, he knew it so well. He really was the king of Watkins Glen!

Tony Stewart’s Racing Career

Now, he don’t race no more, that Tony Stewart. Hung up his helmet, as they say. But folks still talk about him, especially around Watkins Glen time. They remember that 2005 race, and all them other wins he had there. He was a legend, that’s what they call him. And they’re right, you know. He was a legend, alright. He was a really good driver on the track.

He was a good ol’ boy, that Tony. Loved to race, loved to win. And he sure did a lot of winnin’ at Watkins Glen. He was always a great driver. Especially in 2005, that was a good year for him. If you like racing, you have to like Tony Stewart.

So, next time you hear folks talkin’ about racin’, you remember that name: Tony Stewart. And you remember that place: Watkins Glen. And you remember that year: 2005. Because that’s when Tony was at his best, tearin’ up that track and showin’ everyone how it’s done. He was amazing that day. He was truly great that day. He showed everyone why he was the best.
