So, I’m getting into this whole golf thing, right? And I heard from somewhere that stretching beforehand is key. Figured I’d give it a shot, not really knowing what I’m doing, but hey, gotta start somewhere.

First off, I tried to look up some good stretches online. I just typed some stuff into my phone. There were tons of information, and I found one page that talked about how stretching your quads is important. Apparently, those muscles are big players in your knee movements, which, you know, you kinda need for a decent golf swing. Sounded legit, so I decided to focus on those.
I started with some basic quad stretches I remembered vaguely from high school gym class. You know the ones, stand on one leg, grab your foot, and pull it towards your butt. Felt a good stretch there, held it for like, maybe 30 seconds on each leg. Did that a couple of times.
Then I tried some other movements. Here’s what I did:
- Arm circles: I just swung my arms around in big circles, first forward, then backward. I did it around ten times each way. I felt my shoulder loosen up.
- Torso twists: Kept my feet planted and twisted my upper body side to side. I did about ten on each side. I think this is good for the golf swing rotation.
- Leg swings: I held onto a chair and swung one leg forward and back, then side to side. I did it ten times on each leg. My legs felt more ready to move.
After the stretches, I went out to the range to hit some balls. Honestly, I felt more warmed up than usual. Swings felt a little smoother, maybe? Hard to tell for sure if it made a huge difference, but my body definitely felt looser.
I’m no expert, but it seemed like this pre-golf stretching thing might be worth the effort. It didn’t take that long, maybe 10-15 minutes total, but I felt like I could move better on the course. I’m going to keep doing these stretches and maybe try to learn a few more. I think I will try to find some more resources on the web, or ask around the golf course to see what others are doing.

Conclusion
Will see if it helps my game in the long run. At the very least, I’m moving around a bit more, which is always a good thing. So, that’s my little experiment with golf stretches. Nothing fancy, but it’s a start!
