Okay, so yesterday I was messing around and decided, “Hey, I’m gonna try and take a cool picture!” Sounds simple, right? Well, lemme tell ya how it went down.

First off, I grabbed my phone. Nothing fancy, just the regular camera app. I thought about using some of those fancy filters right off the bat, but I was like, nah, let’s start with the basics.
Then came the hard part: figuring out what to shoot. I wandered around my apartment for a good 10 minutes. My cat was being boring, the plants were just…plants. Finally, I spotted this ray of sunlight hitting my coffee table. Looked kinda neat.
I crouched down, tried to get a good angle. Realized my coffee table was a mess! Had to quickly shove some papers and a half-eaten bag of chips out of the way. Gotta keep it classy, ya know?
Okay, so I aimed the phone, tapped the screen to focus. The lighting was still kinda tricky. Too bright in some spots, too dark in others. I played around with the exposure settings a bit. You know, that little sun icon you can drag up and down.
Took a bunch of shots. Like, ten at least. Each time, I’d move the phone a tiny bit, try a different angle. Even tried holding my breath to keep the phone steady! Felt like a real photographer, haha.

After that, I went through all the pictures and picked the one I thought looked the best. It was still a bit rough, so I opened it up in my phone’s photo editor. Nothing too crazy, just tweaked the brightness and contrast a little.
And that’s it! Shot a picture. It’s nothing amazing, but it was kinda fun to mess around and try to capture something cool. Might try it again today, maybe with something more interesting than my coffee table.
- Grabbed my phone.
- Found a subject (sunlight on my coffee table).
- Cleaned up the mess.
- Played with the focus and exposure.
- Took a bunch of shots.
- Edited the best one.
Definitely gonna try this again. Maybe I’ll even learn some actual photography tips this time!
