Well, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout them fancy race cars the other day, the Ferraris and McLarens. They was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout a “flexi-wing” that McLaren’s got, and Ferrari don’t. Now, I don’t know much ’bout these things, but it got me thinkin’. Why that McLaren got that bendy wing and Ferrari don’t? Ain’t they both fast cars?
They say this flexi-wing, it bends when the car goes real fast. And that makes it go even faster! Like, when the wind hits it just right, it kinda leans back. Smart, huh? And they say this McLaren, it’s got this special wing that does that. Makes it faster on the straight parts, where they just go zoom!
So, this McLaren car, it’s got this wing that bends back when it goes fast. And that makes it go even faster, they say. Like magic or somethin’. But then, I heard them sayin’ that the big bosses of the race, they don’t like it. They say it ain’t fair or somethin’. They called it FIA, I think. They said that McLaren had to change it, make it not bend so much. Oh, these rules!
- That McLaren, it’s sneaky with that wing.
- Ferrari, they don’t have that.
- The FIA, they’re the bosses, they make the rules.
Now, this Ferrari, I hear it’s a real good car, too. Real fast, they say. But they don’t got this bendy wing. Why not, I wonder? Maybe they just don’t want it. Or maybe they can’t figure it out. Or maybe, them big bosses, the FIA, told ’em they can’t have it. I heard that the Ferrari folks wanted to have a flexi-wing too. But they were too slow, they are late for the party. So they don’t have one now.
I heard some folks sayin’ that Ferrari, they was tryin’ to make a bendy wing, too. But they were slow. Like a turtle racin’ a rabbit! They say they was behind, like, two months behind McLaren! Can you believe it? Two whole months! By the time they got it, the race bosses said “no more!”
And that other team, Red Bull, they’re mad too. I guess they want the flexi-wing for their own cars. They’re in a big fight for points, I heard. And now that McLaren has more points than Ferrari, they’re not happy campers. I guess it is a big deal to them. Points, points, points, I hear them talking about it all the time!
So, that McLaren, they got ahead with this bendy wing thing. And Ferrari, they’re behind. And this other team, Mercedes, they got a bendy wing, too, I think. Or they used to. I’m not sure. Oh, it’s all so confusing! I don’t really understand it but they are arguing so hard.
Ferrari boss, they say he’s a big cheese. They called him Vasseur. He’s mad, too. He says they lost time, tryin’ to make this bendy wing. And now they can’t use it. They were waiting to hear if the FIA would say it is okay or not. And now, time’s up. I guess it is not a good thing for them, that Vasseur sounds so angry.
- Ferrari wanted a flexi-wing.
- They were too slow.
- Now they can’t have one.
- That Vasseur guy is mad.
I heard them sayin’ that the FIA, they checked the McLaren and Mercedes cars. They looked at their wings real close. And they said, “Okay, you can have your bendy wings, for now.” But they have to be careful. It is like they gave them a chance to show that they are not bad guys.
So, that’s the story, I guess. McLaren got a flexi-wing, Ferrari don’t. The race bosses are watchin’ close. And everyone’s tryin’ to go as fast as they can. It’s a real mess, if you ask me. But I guess that’s just how it is in that fancy racin’ world. It is all about being fast and smart.
I don’t know what they will do next. But you can be sure they will find other ways to make their cars faster. That is all they want, to win the race. Maybe next year Ferrari will have a new trick and make McLaren cry. We will see what they will do next year.
