Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on the MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket for a while now. I finally pulled the trigger and bought one, and man, I gotta share my experience with it.

Getting Started
First off, finding the right size was a bit of a hassle. I’m usually a Large, but after reading some reviews online, I decided to go with an XL. It’s a good thing I did, because it fits perfectly, even with a couple of layers underneath. So, pro-tip: consider sizing up.
Putting it to the Test
- First Ride: I took it out for a spin on a chilly morning. The wind protection was awesome. I felt absolutely no cold air creeping in.
- Rainy Day Adventure: I got caught in a downpour. Now, I’m not saying it’s 100% waterproof like a full-on rain suit, but man, it held up surprisingly well. I stayed mostly dry, which is a huge win in my book.
- Off-Road Fun: I took the jacket off-roading and put the materials to a real * durable material is the real thing!
Comfort and Features
This jacket is surprisingly comfortable. It’s not stiff or bulky, and I could move around freely. The ventilation is also pretty good. I didn’t feel like I was suffocating, even when I was working up a sweat.
The pockets are strategically placed, too. I could easily reach my phone and other essentials without having to fumble around.
Final Thoughts
All in all, I’m really stoked about this jacket. It’s tough, comfortable, keeps most of the elements out, and looks pretty darn good, too. It’s definitely going to be my go-to jacket for my adventures. If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say go for it! Just remember what I said about sizing up, though.
