Okay, so I wanted to figure out how to mention someone on Snapchat. It’s kinda like tagging people on other apps, but I wasn’t 100% sure how it worked at first.

Trying it Out
First, I opened up Snapchat and took a quick photo. Just a random picture of my desk, nothing special.
Then, I tapped on the screen like I was going to add some text. You know, the usual way you add a caption.
I typed the “@” symbol, and boom, a little list of my friends popped up! It was pretty intuitive, actually. I didn’t even have to type out the whole username, just the first few letters.
- Type @: This is the key. It triggers the mention feature.
- Start typing the name: Snapchat suggests friends as you type.
- Select the friend: Tap on their name from the list.
Once I selected my friend’s name, it appeared in my caption in blue. That’s how I knew it was a proper mention.
Sending the Snap
Finally, I just sent the Snap like normal, and that’s it! I even checked my friend and she can see the mention on the picture I sent.

It’s super easy, honestly. I don’t know why I thought it would be more complicated. Now I can tag all my friends in my goofy Snaps. Perfect!
