Okay, so I’ve been feeling kinda sluggish lately, you know? Like, I just haven’t been pushing myself. So I decided to dive into some Max Holloway motivation stuff, see if I could get some of that “Blessed” energy flowing.
Digging into Max’s Mindset
First, I started watching a bunch of his interviews and fight breakdowns. I wasn’t just watching for the action, though that’s always awesome. I was really trying to listen to how he talks about training, about setbacks, about his mentality.
- I noticed he’s always talking about embracing the grind. Like, he doesn’t shy away from the hard work. He straight-up loves it.
- He’s huge on being present. He talks a lot about focusing on the now, not dwelling on the past or worrying too much about the future.
- The dude is just ridiculously positive. Even when he talks about losses, he frames them as learning experiences.
Putting it into Practice
So, I took those observations and tried to apply them to my own routine. It’s not like I’m training for a UFC title fight, but everyone can find areas where they can make themselves better.
- Embracing the Grind: Instead of dreading my workouts, I started focusing on the feeling of pushing my limits. I picked something more fun for me. More enjoyable. It’s not about being miserable; it’s about the satisfaction of getting better.
- Being Present: This one’s tough. I started with just five minutes of meditation in the morning. Just focusing on my breath, trying to clear my head. It’s helped me be a little less scattered throughout the day.
- Staying Positive: I’ve been trying to catch myself when I’m being negative, especially about my own progress. Instead of thinking, “I’m so slow,” I try to reframe it as, “I’m getting faster every day.” Cheesy, I know, but it actually helps.
The Results (So Far)
It’s not like I suddenly transformed into a fighting machine. But I definitely feel a shift. I’m more motivated to get things done, and I’m approaching challenges with a more positive attitude. I felt like doing more things, and found myself wanting to improve my life more and more, little by little. I feel great!
It’s all about taking those small steps, being consistent, and, like Max says, “It is what it is.” You just gotta keep moving forward. Daddest Man on the Planet!
