Alright, so I’ve been meaning to get into podcasts lately, and since I’m a huge Man City fan, I figured, why not combine the two? Seemed simple enough, right? “Man City podcast” – how hard could it be to find some good listening material?

First, I fired up my usual podcast app – you know, the one with the purple icon. Typed in “Man City podcast” in the search bar. Boom! A whole bunch of results. I scrolled through, looking at the episode titles and descriptions. Some were clearly fan-made, others looked more official.
I decided to try a couple of the top results. The first one I clicked on… eh, not great. The audio quality was pretty rough, sounded like they recorded it in a bathroom or something. And the hosts, well, let’s just say they weren’t exactly professional broadcasters. Lots of rambling, inside jokes I didn’t get, and not much actual analysis. I gave it about 10 minutes before I bailed.
The next one was a bit better. The sound was clearer, at least. But the hosts were SO biased, it was almost comical. Every decision the ref made against City was a conspiracy, every opposing player was a dirty cheat. I mean, I love City, but come on, let’s be realistic here! I stuck with this one for a bit longer, but eventually, I just couldn’t take the constant whining.
The Official One is golden
Then I stumbled upon the official Man City podcast. Finally some good quality! You can find it if you dig a bit, but its there.
The official one? Now we’re talking! Professional production, actual interviews with players and staff, and in-depth match previews and reviews. This is what I was looking for! I downloaded a few episodes to listen to on my commute.

So, yeah, my journey to find a good Man City podcast was a bit of a rollercoaster. I learned that there’s a lot of noise out there, but if you dig a little, you can find some real gems. The official podcast is definitely my go-to now. Good stuff!
