Alright, so “cute midget” was the theme for today’s little project. I gotta say, it threw me for a loop at first. But hey, I’m always up for a challenge, right?

I started by just, you know, staring at the words. “Cute” and “midget.” Hmmm. What could I even do with that? I figured I needed to break it down.
The Brain Dump
- Cute: Okay, that’s easy enough. Think fluffy, small, maybe big eyes, pastel colors… anything generally adorable.
- Midget: Alright, this one’s a bit trickier. It refers to something small, a person with dwarfism… but I want to be careful. It felt like it could easily go in a bad direction. I figured I would focus on the ‘small’ aspect rather than anything else.
Trying Stuff Out
First, I tried just sketching some random tiny things. A mini-cupcake, a teeny-tiny car, a little itty-bitty house. It was… okay. Nothing really clicked, though. It felt generic. I needed something, a spark, maybe.
Then I thought, maybe I should combine the two concepts more directly. I sketched a super small, simplified character with oversized, sparkly eyes. I gave it a little round body and stubby limbs. It was kinda cute, in a weird way, I made it look like a small cartoon character.
I played around with colors. Pastels seemed like the obvious choice. I used a lot of light pinks, baby blues, and soft yellows. I even added a tiny little bow, just for extra cuteness. I even used a little bit of blush effect, using the color pink, and a lighter pink for highlight.
The Final Result
After messing around some more, I ended up with this little character. I think I nailed the “cute” part, and the “midget” part is there, I made the charater look small, but not in a bad way. At least, I hope not!

It was a weird prompt, for sure. But it was fun to see what I could come up with. Sometimes the strangest ideas lead to the most interesting results. I might try to refine this little guy later, maybe give it a whole tiny world to live in. Who knows!
