Okay, so today I wanted to look back at the 2013 Cavaliers roster. It’s been a while, and honestly, I was curious to see who was even on that team besides Kyrie and, well, you know…the guys who eventually came back.

Digging Through the Archives (aka Google)
First thing I did was hit up the internet. I needed a starting point, a list, something to jog my memory. I mean, 2013 was a minute ago! I used a generic search, nothing fancy, and, boom, there it was. A complete roster.
My Memory vs. Reality
Honestly, seeing the list was a trip. Some names I totally remembered, like, obviously, Kyrie Irving. He was the young star, the hope for the future. Then there was Anderson Varejao, always hustling, always with that wild hair. And Tristan Thompson, Mr. Double-Double himself.
But then came the “wait, who?” moments. I had completely forgotten about some of these guys.
Building the Roster in My Head
- The Stars (or Star, singular): Kyrie Irving. No question.
- The Glue Guys: Anderson Varejao, always reliable. Tristan Thompson, rebounding machine.
- The “Oh Yeah, They Were There” Guys: Marreese Speights, Wayne Ellington, Shaun Livingston (before he became a Warrior!).
- The Who?: Seriously I had no recall the rest of the list.
Final Thoughts – A Trip Down Memory Lane
It was fun to look back and see how that team was constructed. It’s a reminder that not every roster is a championship contender, and that even the teams in the middle of the pack have stories and players worth remembering…even if I needed a little help from the internet to remember some of them!
