Alright, folks, let’s dive into something I’ve been messing around with lately – finding the best sidearm pitchers. Now, I’m no pro, but I love trying new things in baseball, so I wanted to see what all the fuss was about with these sidearm guys.

First, I started by just watching a bunch of videos. You know, just getting a feel for how they throw, the different arm angles, and all that. I wasn’t looking for anything specific, just soaking it all in.
My Practice
Next, I headed out to the field. No fancy equipment, just me, a bucket of balls, and the good ol’ outdoors. I started by mimicking what I saw in the videos. Tried to drop my arm down, keep my body low… man, it felt awkward at first! My throws were all over the place, some bouncing way before the plate, others sailing high.
- First few throws: Disaster.
- Next few: Slightly less disastrous.
- After an hour: Okay, I’m starting to get a feel for this.
I kept at it, though. I focused on keeping my wrist loose and trying to get that nice side-to-side movement on the ball. I wasn’t even aiming for accuracy at this point, just trying to get the basic motion down.
I Spent the next couple of weeks to find someone can catch my ball,And spent 3 more days to make sure I can hit the * I started to feel a little more comfortable. It’s definitely a different feel than throwing overhand, but I started to see the potential. The ball had this weird movement that I could tell would be tough for a batter to pick up.
I still have a long way to go, but it’s been a fun experiment. It’s definitely shown me that there’s more than one way to pitch, and that sometimes, the weirdest techniques can be the most effective. So, if you’re looking to spice up your game, give sidearm a try! Just be prepared for some awkward throws at the beginning.
