Okay, so I’ve been glued to the Masters all weekend, like everyone else, right? And Tiger? Man, it’s been a rollercoaster. I wanted to keep super close track of his score, so I did a few things, and I figured I’d share, ’cause maybe it’ll help someone else next year, or for any golf tournament, really.

My Little System
First, I grabbed a piece of paper. Old school, I know, but it works! I wrote down each round, 1 through 4, with space for each hole. Nothing fancy, just a simple grid.
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 3
- Round 4
Then, as the tournament was going, anytime I saw an update on Tiger, I’d jot it down. I mostly used my phone to check things, and when I saw a change in score, I’d quickly write it down on my paper.
It wasn’t perfect, because sometimes I’d miss a hole or two if I was doing other things, like, you know, life. But I tried to fill in the gaps as soon as I could.
I also made little notes next to some of the scores. Like, if he had a particularly amazing putt, I’d write “Wow!” or if he bogeyed a hole, I’d just put a sad face. It’s silly, but it helped me remember the ups and downs.
By the end of the tournament, my paper was a beautiful mess of numbers and doodles. I had this complete record of Tiger’s performance, and I could see exactly how he did each day. It was way better than just looking at the final score online.

This might not be the most high-tech method ever. But it was simple and it worked. It let me watch.
