So, I was scrolling through Facebook the other day, and I saw a post that was getting a ton of comments, some of which were, let’s just say, not very nice. It got me thinking, “Can you actually turn off comments on Facebook posts?” I decided to find out.

My Little Experiment
First, I opened my Facebook app. You know, the usual drill. Then, I went to my profile and started to create a new post. I typed in something random, like, “Testing out the comment settings!”
- Finding the Hidden Button: Before I posted, I looked around for any settings related to comments. It’s not super obvious, to be honest. I tapped on the three little dots at the top right corner of the post window.
- Exploring the Options: A menu popped up.I saw that it has “Who can comment on your post?” option.
- Choosing Your Audience:I tapped that, and I saw I select “Public”, “Friends”, or “Profile and Pages you mentioned” .Bingo!
I selected “Friends,” which means only my friends could comment. I published the post and waited to see what would happen.
And it worked! My friends could comment, but random people couldn’t.
Later, I went back and edited an older post. I followed the same steps – tapped the three dots, found the “Who can comment on your post?” option, and changed it. Easy peasy!

So, yeah, you can totally control who comments on your Facebook posts. It’s a nice way to keep things a bit more chill and avoid any unwanted drama.
