Alright, so today I wanna talk about this whole “your other question” thing from the NYT crossword. I’ve been seeing it pop up a lot lately, and I figured it’s time I actually tried to tackle it.

First off, I gotta say, I’m no crossword expert. I dabble, you know? But sometimes these clues, they just throw me for a loop. They’re short, they’re supposed to be easy, but sometimes they’re just…not. I started by staring at that clue, “___ your other question…” and honestly, my mind was blank. It felt so vague. I mean, what could it possibly be?
So, I started thinking about what kind of phrase would fit in there. What could that blank be? I went through a bunch of possibilities, running them through my head. I looked at the other clues, trying to see if there was anything there that could give me a hint. Sometimes, you know, the surrounding clues can help you figure out what fits where, because there’s only so many letters that could go in each space.
Then I read through some stuff online, a few articles, to get an idea of how other folks approached it. I read about the importance of carefully reading the clue, which I already did, and then comparing with a solution, and also learned that other people had encountered it in a previous NYT puzzle.
I kept at it, going back and forth, trying different words. And then, it hit me. What if it’s “as to”? Like, “as to your other question…” It kinda makes sense, right? It’s a phrase people use. “As to your other question, I’ll get back to you.” See? It fits.
So I plugged it in, ASTO. And guess what? It worked! It was the right answer. I felt pretty good, I gotta say. It’s always satisfying when you finally crack one of these things. But it was definitely a journey to get there.

- Tried to understand the clue.
- Tried to think of possible answers, and some words that fit there.
- Read some information online to understand how others approached it.
- Tried different words until I came to “ASTO” which is the answer.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with the “your other question” clue. It wasn’t easy, but I got there in the end. And I learned a thing or two along the way. Hopefully, this helps some of you out there who might be struggling with the same clue. Just remember, don’t give up! Sometimes the answer is right there, you just gotta keep digging.
