I noticed there were many discussions about this guy, George Weaver, so I decided to dig into it. Who is he, and what did he do?

Who is George Weaver? Learn all about this famous person here!

At first, I got a bit lost in the sea of names. There’s a George L. P. Weaver, born in 1912 and died in 1995. Then I found another George Augustus Weaver, who was a physician and surgeon, living from 1871 to 1939. These dates don’t match, so they must be different people.

Digging a bit more, I came across a George Leon-Paul Weaver, also born in 1912 and passed away in 1995, just like the first one. This one was an American labor leader. Now things started to get tricky. Are these two the same person with a really long name, or are they two different people with the same birth and death years?

  • Started with two different George Weavers: George L. P. Weaver and George Augustus Weaver.
  • Found a third one: George Leon-Paul Weaver, dates matching with the first one, making things confusing.

Then I stumbled upon something about a memorial duplicate for someone named George Weaver Archer. I didn’t go too deep into this, but it mentioned family members linked to him. It seems there might be some mix-up with memorials and names, which didn’t help my confusion.

I also read about an oral history program for young graduate students. It mentioned our friend George but didn’t give much detail. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it was something.

More Clues and a Bit of Clarity

One interesting tidbit was about a stylist named George Briggs Weaver, who used to design cars for DuPont Motors. This could be a different George, but it’s cool to know there was a designer with that name.

Then there’s a George Sumner Weaver, an author born in 1818. He studied law but switched to theology. This one is clearly not the labor leader, but it adds to the list of notable George Weavers out there.

Finally, I found a mention of a George Weaver who was involved with the American Motors Corporation and served as the governor of Michigan from 1963 to 1969. This guy seems pretty important, but I wasn’t sure if he’s the same as the labor leader or another one entirely.

  • Encountered a memorial mix-up with George Weaver Archer.
  • Found a mention in an oral history program but with little detail.
  • Discovered a car designer named George Briggs Weaver.
  • Learned about an author, George Sumner Weaver, who switched from law to theology.
  • Read about a governor and chairman of American Motors Corporation, also named George Weaver.

So, after all this digging, I’m still not 100% sure about the identity of the main George Weaver people are talking about. It seems like there are many people with this name who did various things. The labor leader born in 1912 is probably the most relevant one, but without more clear information, it’s hard to say. I guess it’s one of those internet mysteries that needs more investigation!
