So, I was kinda going down a rabbit hole the other day, you know how it is. Started off looking at some old college football highlights, specifically the Florida Gators from back in the mid-2000s. Man, they had some players then.

Where is Andre Caldwell today? Find out what the former NFL wide receiver is doing after football.

And this name, Andre Caldwell, popped into my head. Yeah, “Bubba” Caldwell. I remember watching him play, quick guy, wide receiver for the Gators. It got me thinking, what ever happened to him? Where’d he end up?

So, I did what we all do, just started searching around a bit. First thing, confirmed the Gators connection. Yep, played there, was pretty decent too. Saw he was born back in April ’85.

Checking out his Pro time

Then I started looking into his NFL journey. Took a bit of clicking around. Found out he got drafted, played for a few years professionally. Let’s see, the teams that came up were:

  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Denver Broncos

Played wide receiver, obviously, but also saw he did kickoff returns. So he had that versatility. He stuck around the league for a good few seasons, which is more than a lot of guys can say. Seemed like a solid player during his time.

After tracing his playing days, I got curious about what he’s doing now. You know, post-football life. This is where things got a little less clear. I spent some time trying to find recent news or updates.

Unlike some other players who step right into coaching or broadcasting, like you see on ESPN or Fox analysis shows, I didn’t really find much definitive stuff about Caldwell’s current gig. It wasn’t like searching for some hall-of-famer where everything is documented. Maybe he’s just doing his own thing, staying out of the public eye? Couldn’t find any big headlines about a coaching job or a regular TV spot.

It’s interesting, really. You follow these guys through college, then the pros, you hear their name all the time, and then they just transition into the next phase of life, often much more quietly. Nothing wrong with that, of course. Just an observation from my little search session. It was cool to reminisce about his playing days for a bit, though. Solid player from what I remember and found.
