  • It’s quieter than a motorized one in some ways, but the belt sliding over the bearings makes its own kind of ‘whooshing’ sound. Not bad, just different.
  • Controlling pace takes concentration at first. You learn to use small shifts in your position.

Using It Day-to-Day

Now, I’ve been trying to use it most mornings. Not gonna lie, some days it’s tough to get motivated. Because you have to put in the effort. There’s no zoning out completely while the machine does the work. Even walking feels more demanding. I started with short 10-15 minute bursts. Now I can manage longer walks, maybe 30 minutes, and some jogging intervals. It definitely gets the heart rate up faster than my old walks outside. Feels like a more intense workout in less time. Found myself sweating way more than expected, especially during those first few weeks.

So, What’s the Verdict?

It’s basic. It’s tough. It does exactly what it says on the tin, I suppose. It forces you to work, which is probably the whole point of the ‘grit’ name. I needed something to kick my butt a bit, get me off the sofa without the whole rigmarole of driving to the gym, changing, all that stuff. This thing sits there, looking at me. A constant reminder. Some days I conquer it, other days it wins and just holds laundry. But yeah, I’m using it. It feels like I’m actually doing something. It’s simple, mechanical, and kinda raw. Not sure if it’s for everyone, but for me, right now, it’s doing the job. It’s a piece of equipment that demands effort, and I guess I respect that.
