It’s time for the 2024 French Open, and guess what? I managed to snag some tickets! I’ve been wanting to go to this for ages, and this year I finally made it happen. Here’s how I did it.

First, I kept an eye on the official tournament website, I’d heard it was the most reliable way to get tickets. They usually have two rounds of sales, one just for the folks in the French Tennis Federation and then another for everyone else. I missed the first round, obviously, because I’m not a member of the French Federation, but I kept checking back.
Then came the big day: March 13th, when the ticket office opened to the general public. I was ready at my computer at 10 a.m. sharp. It was a bit of a rush, I gotta admit. Turns out, a lot of people had the same idea, and tickets for the main courts were gone super fast. Those were for the Philippe-Chatrier, Suzanne-Lenglen, and Simonne-Mathieu courts. I guess everyone wants to see the big matches.
But, I didn’t give up! There were still tickets left for the outside courts, so I grabbed a couple of those. I figured, hey, it’s still the French Open, right? I was not wrong.
What I Got
- Outside Court Tickets: The prices weren’t too bad, actually. They started around $157 and went up from there, depending on the day and stuff.
I ended up paying a bit more than the minimum, but not that much, way less than the average of $670, which is what some people pay for the main court tickets. I heard those can go for thousands!
I also found out that you can actually visit the Roland Garros stadium grounds for free most of the year. They’re open to the public, and you can just walk in through the Porte des Mousquetaires at 2, avenue Gordon-Bennett. I might do that sometime when it’s not so crowded.

The tournament starts on May 26th, so I’ve got a little time to get everything sorted for my trip to Paris. I’m pretty pumped to finally experience the French Open in person. It’s going to be awesome to see some great tennis and soak up the atmosphere.
So yeah, that’s my story of how I got my French Open tickets. It took a bit of planning and a little bit of luck, but I managed to do it. If you’re thinking about going next year, definitely keep an eye on the official website and be ready when those tickets go on sale. Trust me, it’s worth the effort!
Hope you have a great time if you managed to grab tickets for this year’s event!
