Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea, right? Living underwater. Sounds crazy, but stick with me here. I started thinking, “What if we could actually make homes down in the ocean?” Not just for a visit, but like, really live there.

I dove into all sorts of stuff to figure this out. First thing I did was hit up the internet. There is some information about this, especially about living underwater. I watched some videos about old experiments, like where people tried to stay underwater for a bit. It was pretty wild to see what they did back then.
Then I got into the whole building part. You can’t just plop a house underwater, you know? I made a few drawings and some simple calculations, thinking about how much pressure is down there and what kind of materials could even handle it. It’s tough, really tough. I tried making a small model, just to see how it would do in water. I used a plastic container and some weights, and let me tell you, it didn’t go great. The thing just got crushed when I added enough weight to simulate the deep sea.
After that fail, I thought about how people would even live in these underwater places. Like, how would they breathe? Eat? And what about seeing in the dark? I imagined people with bigger eyes and webbed hands, maybe even fused legs, you know to swim better. I even drew some pictures of what these underwater humans might look like. They ended up looking like those mermaids from stories.
But here’s the kicker, the big problem is pressure. Underwater, the deeper you go, the more the water pushes on you. It is really intense. I looked up some ways they deal with this in submarines and stuff, but it’s super complicated. Then I read about the Mariana Trench, which is like, the deepest part of the ocean. You know I was thinking, “Could we ever live that deep?”
So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been up to. It’s been a wild ride of drawing, building, failing, and imagining. I haven’t cracked the code to living underwater yet, but it’s been a blast trying. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll figure it out. It’s a pretty cool thought, right?

- Step 1: Researching old underwater living experiments.
- Step 2: Sketching designs for underwater habitats.
- Step 3: Building a small-scale model to test.
- Step 4: Imagining human adaptations for underwater life.
- Step 5: Investigating the challenges of deep-sea pressure.
My Thoughts
It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. But it was also super interesting. It made me realize how much we still don’t know about the ocean and how crazy it would be to actually live there. I still have a lot of questions, but it’s been a fun project.
