So I’ve been hearing a lot about this Tony Ferguson guy and his crazy training methods. You know, the dude from the UFC who’s known for being a bit… unorthodox. I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean, I’m no professional fighter, but I like to stay in shape and try new things.

Getting Started
First thing I did was try to find some info about how this guy trains. Let me tell you, it wasn’t easy. There’s not like a step-by-step guide out there. It’s more like bits and pieces scattered all over the internet. Videos of him hitting steel pipes, doing weird stretches, and all sorts of other stuff.
My Makeshift Setup
I don’t have a fancy gym like Tony, so I had to improvise. I found an old metal pipe in my garage – not quite a steel beam, but it would have to do. I also grabbed some resistance bands and a yoga mat. I figured that would cover most of the exercises.
The Workout Begins
I started with some dynamic stretching, trying to mimic some of the stuff I saw Tony doing online. It felt a little silly, flailing my arms and legs around, but hey, I was committed. Then came the pipe work. I tried swinging it around, hitting it against my shins – just like I saw in the videos. It hurt, not gonna lie. My shins were definitely not used to that kind of impact.
- Swinging the pipe: This was tougher than it looked. My forearms were burning after just a few minutes.
- Shin conditioning: Yeah, this part sucked. I definitely didn’t go as hard as Tony, but it still left some nice bruises.
- Weird stretches: Some of these were actually pretty good. I felt way more flexible afterward. Others, though, I just couldn’t figure out.
The Aftermath
I only managed to keep this up for a few days. It was brutal, and honestly, I was a little scared of injuring myself. I definitely gained a newfound respect for Tony Ferguson. The guy is a machine! I’m not sure if this type of training is for everyone, especially if you’re not used to intense workouts.
Final Thoughts
It was a fun experiment, but I think I’ll stick to my regular workout routine. Maybe I’ll incorporate some of the dynamic stretches, but I’m definitely leaving the pipe-hitting to the professionals. If you’re thinking about trying Tony Ferguson’s training, be careful and make sure you know what you’re doing. Don’t be like me, bruising your shins for no good reason!
