Alright, so the other day I was arguing with a buddy about how good Steph Curry really was back in the 2015 Finals. He was trying to downplay it, saying LeBron did all the work. So, I decided to dig into the stats myself to settle it once and for all.

First, I pulled up the basic box scores for each game. You know, the usual points, rebounds, assists, that kind of stuff. I wanted to get a general feel for how he performed across the entire series.
It was a bit of a mess, honestly. Lots of numbers staring back at me. I started jotting down Curry’s points for each game in a notebook, just to keep it straight. Then I did the same for rebounds and assists, creating little columns for each game.
- Game 1: Points, Rebounds, Assists
- Game 2: Points, Rebounds, Assists
- …and so on for all six games.
Getting a clearer view
After getting all the numbers down, I started calculating some averages. I mean, that’s the best way to see the overall picture, right? I added up all his points from the six games and then divided by six. Did the same for rebounds and assists. Simple math, but it really helps to see the average performance.
Seeing the averages laid out, it became pretty clear. Curry was putting up good scoring and dishing out, even with the struggles some games. My buddy was wrong, and showing the stats to him, he had to agree at last!
It’s always fun to dive into the numbers and see what they really tell you. Sometimes it confirms what you thought, sometimes it surprises you. This time, it definitely helped me win an argument!
