So, I was all set to watch the Steelers game the other night. You know, got my snacks ready, put on my lucky jersey, the whole nine yards. But then, bam! The game got delayed. I was like, “What the heck is going on?”

I grabbed my phone and started frantically searching. Turns out, there were some crazy storms rolling through the area. We’re talking thunder, lightning, the works. It was a whole mess. The Steelers even made an announcement around 8 p.m. saying the game was delayed “until further notice” because of the lightning strikes near the stadium. At first, they told everyone they could chill in their seats, but then the lightning just kept on coming, and the rain started pouring down like crazy. So, they told everyone to clear out. The game’s start was pushed back by almost 90 minutes! 90 minutes!
While I was waiting, I did some more digging. It was interesting because Justin Fields was starting for Pittsburgh again. Apparently, Russell Wilson is still out with a calf injury. Poor guy.
And get this, I also found out that the Steelers had just cut running back Jonathan Ward. I mean, what’s up with that? They’ve already made it to the playoffs, so it’s not like they’re hurting for players.
The waiting game was a real pain
- First, I had to deal with the disappointment of not watching the game on time.
- Second, I had to keep refreshing my phone for updates.
- Third, I had to stop myself from eating all my snacks before the game even started!
Oh, and I also saw something about this being the Steelers’ third game in 11 days. That’s a lot of football in a short amount of time. No wonder they’re dealing with injuries and delays.
Anyway, eventually, the storm passed, and they finally started the game. It was a wild night, but hey, at least I got a good story out of it, right?
