Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into golf stats lately, and Si Woo Kim’s numbers caught my eye. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so I decided to pull his stats and really break them down. Here’s how I went about it.

First, I needed a good source of data. You know, somewhere reliable that keeps up-to-date stats. I’m not going to mention the exact place I went, but let’s just say it’s a pretty well-known site for golf enthusiasts, the big one.
Once I got there, I searched for Si Woo Kim. It was easy, they had a search bar right at the top. Typed in his name, and boom, his profile page loaded up.
Now, this is where it got interesting. The page was packed with numbers! Strokes Gained, Driving Distance, Greens in Regulation, Scrambling… you name it, they had it. It was almost overwhelming at first.
So, I decided to focus on a few key areas. I started with his Strokes Gained: Total. This basically tells you how well he’s performing overall compared to the field. I wanted to see his trend, was he getting better, worse, or staying consistent?
Then, I dug into his Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee. This shows how well he’s driving the ball. Is he gaining strokes on the field with his driver, or is he losing ground?

Next, I looked at his Strokes Gained: Approach-the-Green.This is curcial. How is accuracy of the shot? Is he gaining strokes on the field with his approaching, or is he losing ground?
I also checked out his Strokes Gained: Around-the-Green and Strokes Gained: Putting. These give you a good sense of his short game and how well he’s performing on the greens.
I didn’t stop at just the overall stats. I wanted to see how he performed round by round. So, I looked at his recent tournaments and checked his stats for each round. This helped me see if he was consistent or if he had some really good rounds and some not-so-good ones.
I even went a step further and compared his stats to the tournament averages. This gave me a better understanding of how he stacked up against the competition in each specific event.
It took a while, but after going through all these numbers, I got a much better feel for Si Woo Kim’s game. I could see his strengths, his weaknesses, and how he’s been trending over time. It was a pretty cool exercise, and it definitely gave me a new appreciation for the depth of data available in golf.
