Alright, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a new hat for a while now. And not just any hat, but a black on black New Era hat. You know, the kind that just screams cool and goes with literally everything. So, I finally decided to go for it.
First, I hit up a few online stores to see what was out there. I knew what I wanted but needed to see some options, I guess. I checked out Hibbett’s website ’cause I saw they had a bunch of New Era stuff. They even mentioned free shipping for reward members, which is always a plus. It was a little tempting, honestly. They were offering free 60-day returns too. Nice.
Then I browsed through Macy’s, ’cause why not? They’ve got everything. I found a pretty sweet black Las Vegas Raiders hat there. It was a low profile 9FIFTY snapback. Looked good, but I wasn’t sure if it was “the one.” I mean, a Raiders hat? I don’t even follow football that much, you know.
After that, I stumbled upon DICK’s Sporting Goods. They had a whole section dedicated to New Era hats, and let me tell you, the selection was massive. Prices were all over the place, from like $12 to over $40. They had everything from New York Yankees hats to something called “City Edition” hats. Too many choices, man.

I even found a New Era MLB 9FIFTY Black hat for almost $40 on some other site, but with free shipping. I was getting closer, I could feel it.
Someone mentioned that classic fitted New Era caps and snapback hats give you options for the fit. And something about showing your true colors? I guess that’s one way to put it. Anyway, they also talked about exclusive New Era fitted hats. Interesting.
The Find
Finally, I landed on a site that had a Men’s New Era Detroit Lions Black on Black 59FIFTY Fitted Hat. That was it! Exactly what I was looking for. Simple, sleek, and black on black. The price tag was a bit higher than I wanted, but hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself, right?
So, I ordered it. The whole process was pretty smooth, I just hope it gets here soon. Now I’m just waiting for that bad boy to arrive. I’m already picturing all the outfits I can rock with it. It’s gonna be my new go-to hat, for sure.
