Okay, so I’ve been getting back into collecting baseball cards lately, and I decided to dive into Series 2. Here’s how it all went down.

The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to figure out where to buy the cards. I checked out a few local card shops, you know, those small hobby stores. It’s always fun to, like, support the local guys, and chat them up about cards.
I also looked online, you know at the big retailers, just to compare prices and see what was out there. Browsed around for a bit.
Making the Purchase
After looking around, I decided to grab a couple of hobby boxes. Hobby boxes are kinda cool because they usually have more of the “hit” cards like autographs and relics – the stuff that’s really fun to chase.
I went with one box from a local shop, and another online from a major retailer. I decided to split it up!
The Opening
This is the best part! I ripped open those packs, one by one. The feeling is, Man! you never know what you’re gonna get. It’s like a little treasure hunt every time.

- Started with the local shop box. Carefully opened each pack, checking out the base cards, looking for rookies, and hoping for those big hits.
- Then I moved on to the online box. Same deal. It is so exciting to slowly reveal each card.
Sorting and Storing
After opening everything, I had a HUGE pile of cards. So, the next step was sorting.
I separated the base cards, inserts, and any potential “hits”.
Then,I put the best cards into penny sleeves and top loaders. It took some time, but you have to protect the good ones, right?
I put the base cards into some storage boxes I have. Nothing fancy, but, it keeps them organized.
The Results
Honestly, I didn’t pull any major, like, superstar autographs or anything. But, I did get a few cool relic cards and some numbered parallels. It’s all part of the fun. You win some, you lose some!

I’m pretty happy with what I got. Added some new cards to my collection, and, most importantly, I had a blast doing it. Now, I’ve got a bunch of base cards to, look through and maybe build a set. That’s the plan, anyway!
