Okay, so, about this Rolex 24 thing. I decided to give it a shot this year, you know, see what all the fuss was about.

First off, I had to figure out what it even was. Turns out, it’s this big deal endurance race down in Daytona, 24 hours straight, cars just going and going. And it’s sponsored by Rolex, the watch guys. Fancy, right? They even give out these special Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches to the winners.
So I dug a little deeper. I learned that the teams have either three or four drivers per car, and they take turns driving. Each driver had to be in the car for at least a couple hours. I can’t even imagine driving for that long, let alone racing!
- Checked out some of the cars. Man, they’re something else. All sleek and aerodynamic, built for speed.
- Looked up some of the past winners. These guys are serious athletes, pushing themselves and their cars to the limit.
I started reading up on the history of the race. Apparently, it’s been around for a while, and it used to have different sponsors, like Sunbank and Pepsi, before Rolex took over in ’92. It felt like stepping back in time, learning about all the different eras of the race.
Getting into the spirit
I found out there are going to be some NASCAR drivers in it, like Bubba Wallace, which is pretty cool. I’m not a huge NASCAR guy, but I know it’s a big deal, so that got me even more interested.
I spent hours watching old race footage online, you know, just trying to soak it all in. The roar of the engines, the pit stops, the strategy… it all started to make sense. I started feeling like a bit of an expert, even though I’ve never even been to a race before.

Also, I’ve seen a few different Rolex watch models like the GMT Master II, Submariner, and Sky Dweller. They all look super classy and expensive. I wouldn’t mind having one, but I don’t think I’ll be winning any races soon. And, I got a bit curious and looked up how to find the serial number on a Rolex, turns out you have to look between the lugs near the 6 o’clock position. Neat, huh? I even compared Rolex with Hublot, another brand I knew of, and I realized they are quite different, both being big names in luxury watches.
Anyway, the race is coming up, and I’m actually pretty excited about it. I marked my calendar, set reminders, the whole nine yards. I even got some snacks ready, like I’m going to be watching the Super Bowl or something.
So that’s my Rolex 24 journey so far. From knowing nothing about it to becoming a, well, maybe not an expert, but definitely a fan. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. I might even buy a Rolex watch one day, who knows?
I will keep updating the result after the race, so stay tuned for more!
