My Palworld Base Disaster: A Fiery Tale

Well, folks, gather ’round because I’ve got a bit of a story from my Palworld adventures. It’s not one of those triumphant tales of catching a legendary Pal or anything. Nope, this one’s about how my cozy little base went up in smoke. Literally.

So, there I was, pretty proud of the setup I had going. Spent hours getting the layout just right, you know? Had my crafting stations all lined up, storage chests neatly organized (well, mostly), and my Pals were happily working away. I’d just finished building a nice wooden extension for my logging Pals. Feeling pretty good about it.

Then, the dreaded raid notification popped up. It wasn’t the first time, obviously. Usually, it’s a bit of a scramble, but my Pals and I handle it. This time, though, things went sideways fast. It was one of those groups with the fire-arrow guys, Tocotocos I think? Little explosive birds.

Chaos Ensues

I jumped into the fight, trying to draw them away from the main wooden structures. My combat Pals were doing their best, but one of those fire arrows zipped past me and smacked right into the side of my newly built wooden house. Poof! Instant fire. And wood, as you know, burns really, really well in this game.

I panicked. Honestly, just pure panic. The fire started spreading like crazy. It jumped from the wall to the roof, then to a nearby chest. I was running around like a headless Chikipi, trying to decide whether to keep fighting the raiders or put out the fire. My Pals were getting hurt, the base was burning… it was a mess.

  • Fire spreading faster than I could react.
  • Raiders still attacking from multiple directions.
  • My Pals getting downed by fire and enemies.
  • Me, frantically trying to repair burning structures which, spoiler alert, doesn’t work when they’re actively on fire.

By the time the raid was over, the damage was done. My main house? Gone. Several chests full of materials? Ashes. Some of my crafting stations were wrecked. It was a devastating sight. All that work, just gone up in flames because of one stray arrow and my poor choice of building materials in a key area.

The Cleanup and Rebuild

The next hour or so was just cleanup. Demolishing the charred remains, checking on my injured Pals, and taking stock of what I’d lost. It was pretty disheartening, not gonna lie. Seeing all those resources just vanish is rough.

But, you gotta pick yourself up, right? So, I started gathering stone. Lots and lots of stone. Lesson learned: wood is convenient early on, but upgrading to stone, especially for outer walls and important buildings, is crucial. It takes longer, sure, but it doesn’t burn down when a flaming bird decides to pay a visit.

It took a while, but I slowly rebuilt. Made things a bit more spaced out this time, too. And definitely upgraded the main structures to stone. It’s not quite back to how it was, efficiency-wise, but it’s more resilient. It was a tough lesson, learned the hard way through fire and ash.

So yeah, that’s my story of how my Palworld base burned down. A good reminder to think about defenses and fireproofing! Hope you guys have better luck than I did.
