Overwatch 2: Prime Gaming Rewards Program Discontinued, Details Here

Okay, so here’s something I stumbled upon during my usual rounds. I’ve got this habit, right? Part of my gaming wind-down routine is checking out what’s new on Prime Gaming. It’s almost automatic now, especially after a few matches.

So, the other day, I logged into my Amazon account, navigated over to the Prime Gaming section like I always do. I usually scroll through looking for games I play regularly, and Overwatch 2 has been one I kept an eye on. They usually had some skin or maybe some Battle Pass tier skips, nothing huge but a nice little bonus for being a Prime member.

This time, though, I scrolled down the list… and kept scrolling. No Overwatch 2 tile. I thought maybe I just missed it, you know how sometimes the layout changes or things get buried. So I used their search bar. Typed in “Overwatch 2”. Nothing came up under the active rewards.

That got me thinking. Did I miss an announcement? Was it just a temporary glitch? Sometimes these things happen.

I decided to dig a little deeper. Didn’t want to rely on just the Prime Gaming page itself. Hopped onto a couple of gaming forums I frequent, places where people usually post news pretty quick. Sure enough, threads were popping up. People asking the same thing, “Where’s the Overwatch 2 loot?”

Confirmation and What It Means

After reading through a few posts and checking a reliable gaming news site (just the headlines, mind you, didn’t click any external stuff), it became clear. It wasn’t a glitch. Prime Gaming has officially stopped offering rewards for Overwatch 2.

Here’s what I found out, piecing it together:

  • The partnership seems to have just ended.
  • There wasn’t a big flashy announcement from what I could tell, it just… stopped.
  • The last reward was apparently the one from a month or so ago.

Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. It wasn’t like these rewards were game-breaking, but getting a free legendary skin or some tier skips just for having Prime felt good. It was a small perk that made the subscription feel a tiny bit more valuable, especially since I play Overwatch 2 quite a bit.

It’s not the end of the world, obviously. The game itself doesn’t change. But it does take away one of those little collector things I looked forward to grabbing each cycle. It makes you wonder about the reasons, maybe not enough players were claiming them, or maybe Blizzard and Amazon just decided to go separate ways on this one. Who knows?

So yeah, that’s the situation. If you were like me, checking Prime Gaming regularly for Overwatch 2 stuff, you can stop looking for now. Seems that particular goodie train has reached its final station. Just wanted to share my little discovery process, in case anyone else was wondering what happened.
