So, I’ve been grinding away at Destiny 2 again this week, specifically chasing those Nightfall weapons. Man, it’s been a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I started out just casually running some Nightfalls on Legend difficulty. Figured I’d try my luck, you know? I went through ten runs at least, but I got nothing. Total bummer. I was just shooting aliens, clearing those levels, feeling pretty good, and… nope. Not a single weapon dropped. Ten runs, and nothing to show for it.
After that, I started digging around, asking other players, and everyone’s saying the same thing: “Dude, you gotta hit up those Master Nightfalls if you want a decent shot.” Apparently, the drop rate on Legend is just ridiculously low. Like, winning-the-lottery kind of low.
So, I geared up, found a couple of buddies who were also up for the challenge, and we jumped into the Master difficulty. It was definitely tougher. Enemies hit harder, more of those annoying Champions to deal with. But, after a few runs, I finally saw that sweet, sweet loot drop. Got my first Nightfall weapon! It took us about three runs, just like those other players said, but the feeling was awesome, let me tell you!
Here’s the thing, though, if you really want to stack the deck in your favor, everyone says Grandmaster is the way to go. They say, if you can get Platinum score – which means you’ve gotta take out pretty much all the Champions – then it’s a guaranteed drop. 100% chance.
- Ran a bunch of Legend Nightfalls. Got absolutely nothing.
- Switched to Master with some friends. Managed to snag a weapon after a few tries.
- Heard that Grandmaster is the real deal for guaranteed drops, but it is difficult as hell.
My Grind Summary
I haven’t braved a Grandmaster yet. They’re pretty intimidating, to be honest. But, I’m working my way up there. Maybe next week, I’ll give it a shot.
I also heard somewhere that they sometimes do these special weeks where the Nightfall drops are doubled. So, I’m definitely keeping an eye out for those. Double the loot? Yes, please! It’s a good chance to get those weapons!
