Well, well, well, lookie here! It’s gonna be a big day, October 1st, 2024. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I hear tell there’s a big football match that day. Newcastle and Wimbledon, they say. Gonna be on that Sky thing, on the television.

You young folks and your fancy gadgets. Back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy Sky. We’d be lucky to catch a game on the radio, and even then it was all crackly and you could barely hear a thing! But this Newcastle v Wimbledon on Sky, that’s what everyone’s talkin’ about.
I heard some folks talkin’ at the market the other day. They was sayin’ this here Newcastle United, they got some good players. Fast as a greased piglet, some of ’em, they say. And Wimbledon, that’s the other team. I reckon they’ll be puttin’ up a good fight too. Gotta give ’em credit for that. These games, they get the blood pumpin’ for sure.
This whole thing, it’s gonna be on that there Sky Sports, I reckon. They show all them games. Seems like every time you turn on the TV these days, there’s a football match on. Not that I’m complainin’. Keeps me entertained, that’s for sure. Especially when the weather’s bad and you can’t get out to the garden.
October 1, 2024, remember that date! It is Newcastle v Wimbledon. They changed the time, I heard. It was supposed to be at 7:45 pm, but they moved it. It will be at St James’ Park, I think that is what it’s called. Some fancy stadium, I am sure.

Now, I ain’t no expert on this football stuff, but I do know a good game when I see one. And this Newcastle v Wimbledon match, it’s got all the makin’s of a real barn burner. I heard some fellas down at the pub sayin’ that Newcastle, they’re the favorites. But you never know in these things. Wimbledon could surprise everyone. That’s the beauty of it, ain’t it? The uncertainty. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I remember one time, years ago, there was a big game. Can’t recall who was playin’, but it was a real nail-biter. Went right down to the wire. Everyone was hoppin’ mad, yellin’ and screamin’ at the TV. Good times, good times. I reckon this Newcastle v Wimbledon on Sky game could be just like that. One for the ages, as they say.
Now, if you’re gonna watch this game, you gotta be prepared. Get yourself some snacks, maybe some of that popcorn stuff. And a good drink, somethin’ to wet your whistle. You don’t wanna be runnin’ back and forth to the kitchen during the game, missin’ all the action. No sir, you gotta be planted right there in front of that TV, eyes glued to the screen.
And don’t you be forgettin’ to invite your friends over. These games are always more fun when you got someone to share ’em with. You can yell and scream together, celebrate when your team scores, and complain when they don’t. It’s all part of the fun. This Newcastle match will be big, I tell you.
I reckon this Newcastle United team, they got a lot of pressure on ’em. Everyone’s expectin’ ’em to win. But that don’t mean a thing in football. Anything can happen. That’s what makes it so excitin’. You just never know what’s gonna happen until that final whistle blows. Wimbledon will put up a fight, mark my words.
So, there you have it. October 1st, 2024. Newcastle v Wimbledon on Sky. It’s gonna be a big one. Don’t you miss it. I know I won’t. I’ll be right there, glued to the TV, just like everyone else. Cheerin’ and hollerin’ and hopin’ for a good game. That’s all you can ask for, ain’t it? A good game and some good company. Can’t beat that, no sir.

That Sky Sports, they show all the big games. Premier League, they call it. Fancy name. They also got FA Cup, whatever that is. On BBC and ITV, too. Those are other channels. Lots of football to watch if you are into that sort of thing. But this Newcastle v Wimbledon game, that’s the one everyone’s talkin’ about right now.
I am not sure how to watch online. But you young folks, you know all about that internet stuff. This old brain, it can’t keep up with all that technology. I will stick with my TV, thank you very much. I can’t wait for this match on October 1.
