Okay, folks, let’s dive into how I finally figured out how to make gasoline in Ark: Survival Evolved. It’s not rocket science, but it took me a bit to get it right, so I’m sharing my little journey here.

Getting Started: The Refining Forge
First things first, you need a Refining Forge. I crafted one. I remember needing a bunch of stone, flint, wood, and * took sometime to gather so much stuff.I placed it down in my little base – it’s pretty bulky, so make sure you’ve got space.
Gathering the Goods
Next up, the ingredients. You need two things to make gasoline: Hide and Oil.
- Hide: This is the easy part. I just went out, hunt down some Dodos or other easy creatures, and harvested their bodies. Boom, hide.
- Oil:This one was trickier. At first, I was trying to get it from those little oil nodes on the beach. I harvest them with my pickaxe,I got some, but it was slow going. Later, I learned you can find oil nodes underwater or in the snow biome.I built a raft and go for more efficient oil gathering in the ocean!
The Process: Into the Forge!
Once I had a decent stash of both hide and oil, I headed back to my Refining Forge. I opened up its inventory and tossed in both materials. Here’s the important part: you also need to put in some wood. The wood acts as fuel to start the refining process.
After you’ve got the hide, oil, and wood in there, simply light the forge (there’s a button to ignite it). Then, you wait. It doesn’t happen instantly, it takes a little time for the forge to cook up the gasoline.
The Results
I went off to do some other base chores, and when I came back, there it was! Gasoline sitting in the forge’s inventory. I transferred it to my *, I can run my Fabricator!

That’s it! That’s how I learned to make gasoline in Ark. It’s a multi-step process, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not too bad. Just remember, Refining Forge, hide, oil, and wood for fuel – and a bit of patience!
