Okay, so the other day I was watching some old NBA highlights and I started wondering about all the great players who wore the number 33. I mean, we all know a few big names, but I wanted the full list. So, I decided to dig in and make one myself.

My Quest for Number 33
First, I hit up Google. Just a simple search, you know, “nba players who wore 33”. The results were okay, a bunch of articles listing some players, but nothing complete. It was a mess! A bunch of websites all with different info.
So, I decided to get a bit more organized. I opened up a new spreadsheet, nothing fancy, just to keep track of names. Then, I started going through those search results one by one, jotting down any player I found wearing 33.
But I quickly realized I needed a better source. Those articles were too inconsistent. So I headed over to that website. It’s like the bible for basketball stats, right? I figured they’d have a way to search by jersey number.
It took a bit of poking around, but I found it! They have a player search where you can filter by all sorts of things, including uniform number. Bingo!
Compiling the List
I typed in “33”, and boom, a massive list popped up. Way more names than I expected! Now the real work began. I started going through the list, player by player.

I copied each name into my spreadsheet. But I didn’t want just names. I wanted to know a little bit about each player, too. So, for each one, I did a quick search to find things like:
- Years Active: When did they play?
- Teams: Which teams did they wear 33 for?
- Notable Achievements: Were they an All-Star? Did they win any awards?
It was slow going, I won’t lie. Lots of clicking, lots of reading, lots of copying and pasting. But it was also kind of fun, like being a basketball detective. I discovered some players I’d never even heard of before!
The Final Result
After a few hours of work, I finally had a pretty comprehensive list. It’s not perfect, I’m sure I missed a few obscure guys, but it’s way better than anything I found online initially.
It was a cool little project, and it definitely satisfied my curiosity. Plus, I learned a lot about some lesser-known players who rocked the number 33. It made me appreciate the history of the game even more.
