Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get a haircut for, like, ever. My usual spot was booked solid, and I was starting to look like a shaggy dog. Then I remembered this place I’d seen pop up on my Instagram feed – Lucky 3 Barber Shop. The photos looked cool, all vintage vibes and sharp fades, so I thought, “Why not?”
First thing I did was check out their online presence. I looked for reviews, hours, services, that kind of stuff. Gotta know what you’re getting into, right? Everything looked pretty legit, so I decided to give them a call.
The guy who answered was super chill. I booked an appointment for a classic cut and beard trim. No fuss, no muss.
The Experience
When I walked in, the place was exactly as advertised. Retro chairs, exposed brick, cool old-school barber tools. It felt like stepping back in time, but in a good way. Not dusty or anything, just…classic.
My barber, I think his name was Tony, called me over. We chatted for a minute about what I wanted. I showed him a couple of pictures on my phone – just to make sure we were on the same page. I’m pretty particular about my hair, you know?
- He started with the clippers, expertly fading the sides and back.
- Then he switched to scissors for the top, carefully shaping and layering.
- After that, he used some of the best products.
- He even gave me some tips on how to style it at home.
Next up was the beard trim. He lined it up perfectly, making sure everything was symmetrical and sharp. I swear, this guy was an artist. He even used a straight razor for the edges, which was a first for me. Talk about a close shave!

The whole thing took about 45 minutes, maybe an hour. And honestly, it was one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. I walked out of there feeling like a new man. My hair was on point, my beard was looking sharp, and I was ready to take on the world.
Definitely going back to Lucky 3. It’s my new go-to spot, for sure.
