Okay, so I gotta tell you about this little adventure I had. I saw Ra Ra Riot was touring, and I thought, “Why not? Let’s do this.” I mean, I’ve been a fan for ages, and seeing them live was always on my bucket list.

First things first, I checked their tour dates. Hit their website, scrolled through the list, and bingo! They were playing at a venue like, an hour away. Snagged a ticket online – easy peasy. Got the e-ticket, saved it to my phone, you know, the usual drill.
The day of the show, I was pumped. I planned to leave early, ’cause you never know with traffic, right? I grabbed some food, gassed up the car, and hit the road. The drive was actually pretty smooth, surprisingly. Made good time, found a parking spot near the venue – score!
Got inside, showed my e-ticket, the guy scanned it, and I was in. The place was already starting to fill up. I wandered around a bit, checked out the merch table, and grabbed a beer. Found a decent spot near the front, not too close, not too far, just right.
There was an opening act, some band I hadn’t heard of before. They were alright, got the crowd warmed up. But everyone was really there for Ra Ra Riot, of course.
Then, the lights dimmed, the crowd roared, and there they were! Ra Ra Riot hit the stage. The energy was insane! They launched right into their set, playing all the hits. I was singing along, dancing, the whole shebang. My voice is probably shot now, but it was totally worth it.

Maria, the lead singer, sounded amazing live. And the band was super tight. They played a mix of old stuff and some tracks from their latest album. There was this one moment where they played “Can You Tell,” and the whole crowd just went nuts. Everyone was singing at the top of their lungs.
They did an encore, played a couple more songs, and then it was over. The crowd was chanting for more, but they’d already given it their all. I left the venue feeling totally energized.
The drive home was a blur. I was still buzzing from the show, replaying all the best moments in my head. Got home, crashed on the couch, and just smiled.
Lessons learned?
- Always check tour dates early!
- Get your tickets in advance – don’t wait ’til the last minute.
- Arrive early to find a good spot.
- Sing your heart out! Even if you sound terrible.
- Most importantly, just have fun. Seriously, live music is awesome.
Would I see them again? Absolutely! It was one of the best concerts I’ve been to in a while. If you ever get the chance to see Ra Ra Riot live, don’t miss it.
