Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out what time it was 7 hours ago:
Alright, so I needed to figure out what time it was 7 hours before “now”. It’s one of those random things you gotta do sometimes, you know?
I started by looking at the clock. It was 3:44 PM, and I knew I was on Pacific Standard Time (PST) ,cuz that is where I am at right now.
Then, I did some simple mental math. I mean, I used the online resources, but I could totally just count it back, right?
- First, I subtracted 3 hours to get back to 12:44 PM. Easy peasy.
- Then, I knew I needed to subtract another 4 hours to get to the full 7 hours.
- So, 12:44 PM minus 4 hours… that brings us to 8:44 AM.
And, because it’s Monday afternoon now, it was still Monday morning 7 hours ago. I think I will use that time to do a big thing.
Conclusion of the Time Thing
Boom! So, 7 hours before 3:44 PM PST on Monday, February 24th, 2025, was 8:44 AM PST on the same day. I checked it out, and it all makes perfect sense. Just a little time-traveling math for ya!
