Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get back in shape, and I heard about the Little Rock Racquet Club. I figured, why not give it a shot? I’m not getting any younger, and my tennis game could definitely use some work.

First thing I did was check out, to see it would be good for me. Seemed pretty legit – lots of courts, a gym, even a pool. Sounded promising!
Then,I showed up.
The place was bigger than I expected. I felt a little intimidated at first, to be honest. So many people, all looking like they knew what they were doing. I just kind of wandered around, trying to look like I belonged.
The Workout
- I started with some light cardio on the treadmill. Just 20 minutes to get the blood flowing.
- Then, I hit the weights. Nothing crazy, just some basic exercises to work my arms and legs. I’m definitely feeling it today, though!
- After that, I decided to try out the tennis courts. I hadn’t played in ages, so I was pretty rusty. I found a wall to practice against, and just started hitting some balls. It felt good to get back into the swing of things, even if I wasn’t very good.
I spent about an hour and a half there, overall. It was a good workout, and I definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. It is important to do some exercise.

I’m thinking about going back again next week. Maybe I’ll even try a class or something. It’s a pretty cool place, and I think I could get used to it.
We’ll see how it goes, but so far, so good!
