Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post about checking if Pokemon Go is down, written in a casual, personal style, as requested:
So, this morning I woke up, you know, ready to catch some Pokemon on my way to work. I opened the app… and nothing. Just a spinning Pokeball of doom. My first thought? “Ugh, is Pokemon Go down again?”
I tried the usual stuff first. You know, restarting the app. Nope. Turned my Wi-Fi off and on. Still nothing. Checked my data connection – plenty of bars, everything else was working fine. Okay, this is starting to look like it’s not just me.
Troubleshooting Time
Then to see it must not me, I went over my friend. He lives near me. I knocked on his door and asked, “Hey, is your Pokemon Go working?”
He grabbed his phone, tapped the icon, and… same spinning Pokeball. “Yep, looks like it’s down,” he said with a sigh. We both tried a few more times, just in case, but no luck. It must not my phone problem!

- Rebooting my phone.
- Wi-Fi off and on.
- Checking my data.
- Asked my friend.
Well, there you have it. Sometimes, the servers just can’t handle all of us eager trainers. It happens. I guess I’ll just have to wait it out and catch ’em all later!
