Okay, so I’ve been meaning to get my hands on the Ensign magazine for a while now. I’d heard good things about it, and being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I figured it would be a great way to stay connected and get some spiritual nourishment.

First off, I needed to find where to actually subscribe. I remembered hearing something about it being online, so I went to the church’s website. I couldn’t find it, so I decided to try a general search using a search engine to see what that would turn up. I searched for something like “Ensign magazine subscription” to see what came up. I found a few different websites, including one that looked like it was for free magazines, called ValueMags. It seemed a bit odd to me that it would be there, but hey, I was curious. It had a big “GET IT NOW” button, which I clicked.
Next, it asked for my email and country and wanted me to agree to their terms of use and privacy policy. I put my information in and clicked the “SIGN UP NOW” button. And then…nothing. It just took me to another page that didn’t really have anything to do with the magazine.
Okay, so that didn’t work. Back to the drawing board. I searched again and this time, I found a result that looked promising – *. That sounded legit! I went to the website, and it asked me to sign in using my Church account. It’s worth noting that you need to be 16 or older to sign up for the notifications.
Signing In
- I entered my username and password.
- Clicked the “Sign In” button.
Once I was in, it was pretty straightforward. I found the Ensign magazine listed among the others (like the Friend for kids and the Liahona, which I think is more international). There was an option to subscribe to the print version, which is what I wanted.

I clicked on the subscribe button, and it asked me to confirm my mailing address and some other details. Everything looked good, so I submitted the order.
Waiting Game
Now, the website did say that it takes about 8-12 weeks for the first issue to arrive since it’s a printed magazine and they need time to process everything. So, I’m prepared to be patient. They also mentioned that I could sign up for monthly email notifications to let me know when the newest issues are available online. That sounded pretty handy, so I signed up for that too, using the same website *.
And that’s it! I’m now subscribed to the Ensign magazine. I also learned that you could call 1-800-537-5971 to order by phone and pay with a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover). But doing it online through my Church account seemed easier, plus it is free for members.
I’m excited to start reading it and see what it’s all about. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for that first issue in the mail. In the meantime, I can always check out the online version if I get impatient!
