Today, I wanna share something I’ve been messing around with – making this Indonesian chicken soup called “Soto”.

So, I started by getting all my stuff together. I grabbed about soo grams of chicken and around 250 grams of chicken feet. I know, chicken feet sound weird, but trust me, they make the soup taste way better. Also got some lime leaves – about 3, and one medium tomato that I chopped up. The list of stuff to buy was pretty simple, actually.

  • soo gram chicken
  • 250 grams chicken feet
  • 3 Sheets lime leaves
  • 1 Piece tomatoes

First thing I did was boil some water in a big pot. Once it was bubbling, I tossed in the chicken breast. The goal here was to cook the chicken until it was, well, cooked. Took a little while, but patience is key, you know? Once the chicken was done, I took it out and set it aside.

Now, this soup, it’s called Soto Ayam, and from what I’ve read, it’s like a full meal in a bowl. Pretty cool, right? It’s supposed to be super flavorful, and I gotta say, I was pretty excited to try making it myself.

Next, I started thinking about all the other stuff I wanted to throw into this soup. People online were talking about using common things you can find in your kitchen, nothing too fancy, I followed it, which was good because I didn’t want to go hunting for weird ingredients. So I just used what I had at home.

After getting the chicken sorted, I worked on the broth. I added the lime leaves and the chopped-up tomato to the water I boiled the chicken in. Smelled pretty good already, if I do say so myself. Then, I shredded the chicken I cooked earlier and added it back into the pot.

I let everything simmer for a bit, just to let all the flavors get friendly with each other. It was actually pretty easy to make this Soto. I just followed some recipe and some steps I found on the Internet on how to make Soto Madura. Nothing too complicated.

How it all worked out

Honestly, it turned out way better than I expected. This Soto thing is really something else. It’s warm, it’s comforting, and it’s packed with flavor. I’m definitely making this again. And hey, if I can make it, anyone can. Just follow the steps, use what you’ve got, and you’ll be golden. It turned out to be a pretty fun cooking adventure. And the best part? Getting to eat it at the end!
