Okay, so I ran into this super annoying bug in Fortnite the other day, and I just had to figure it out. It’s the one where Player 2’s screen just goes completely bonkers, right? Either it’s a total black screen, or it’s some weird, distorted mess. I was playing split-screen with my little brother, and he was not happy. Let’s just say a controller almost went flying.

My Struggle with the Fortnite Player 2 Bug
First thing I did? I restarted the game. Duh. Like, that’s the go-to move for any tech problem, right? Didn’t work. Still messed up.
Next, I thought, “Okay, maybe it’s the console.” So, I did a full power cycle. You know, unplugged everything, waited a bit, plugged it all back in. Still nothing. My brother was starting to lose it at this point.
Then, I went diving into the settings. I figured maybe there was some weird resolution issue or something. I checked everything:
- Display settings: Made sure it was on the right resolution for my TV.
- Split-screen options: Looked for anything that seemed off. Nothing.
- Graphics settings: Lowered them, just in case. Nope.
Still, Player 2’s screen was a disaster. I was starting to get seriously frustrated. I even switched controllers, thinking maybe one of them was acting up. No dice.
How I finally fixed it.
Then, it was check the internet! After going through some information, it turns out, it might be a problem with the game’s files.

So I went to verify intergrity of game files. Waited the long process.
Then, I relaunched the game, fingers crossed… IT WORKED! Player 2’s screen was perfect! My brother could finally play without wanting to throw things. High fives all around!
So, yeah, that was my adventure with the Fortnite Player 2 bug. Super annoying, but at least I figured it out. Hopefully, this helps someone else avoid a controller-throwing incident!
