Okay, so I wanted to figure out how to say “gossip” in Portuguese. It’s one of those words you hear a lot, and I thought it’d be useful to know.

First, I jumped on the internet, you know, the usual. I typed in “gossip in Portuguese” into a search engine.
My Little Research
I found a bunch of different websites. Some were dictionary sites, others were, like, language learning blogs. Seemed easy enough.
- I saw a few options pop up, but the one that seemed most common was “fofoca.” It looked simple to pronounce, too – “fo-fo-ca.”
- Then, I checked out some example sentences on a couple of different sites to see how “fofoca” is actually used. You know, just to make sure I wasn’t going to say something weird.
- One example I can remember : “Eles adoram fazer fofoca” (They love to gossip).
I even typed “fofoca” into an online translator and hit the “listen” button to hear the pronunciation. Gotta get that right, you know?
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Now I know that “fofoca” is the word for “gossip” in Portuguese. I might try and use it in a sentence sometime, just to really nail it down.
