Okay, so you wanna hear about my quest for Badger basketball tickets? Buckle up, it’s a wild ride!

It all started like this, I decided I NEEDED to see a game at the Kohl Center. I’m talking, like, deep in my soul needed it. The energy, the cheese curds, the sheer Wisconsin-ness of it all? Irresistible.
First, I checked the official UW Badgers website. Figured that’d be the easiest route, right? I went there and started digging around on their athletic pages. I looked for the basketball schedule and then, BAM, saw the ticket info. I clicked, expecting a simple “buy tickets here” button, but nah, it was more like “fill out this application, sell your soul, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll get a chance to buy tickets next season.”
Season tickets were basically out of the question. Huge waiting list, donations required…it was serious business. So, I started looking for single-game tickets. They do release some, but they go FAST. Like, faster than you can say “On, Wisconsin!”. I marked my calendar for the release date and set a reminder on my phone.
The day came, and I was ready. I logged onto the website a good 15 minutes early, refreshed the page a million times, and then…nothing. The site crashed. Everyone and their grandma was trying to snag tickets. After what felt like an eternity of spinning wheels and error messages, I finally got through. But, surprise! The game I wanted was sold out. Every. Single. Seat.
Don’t give up. I thought about StubHub. I went to the site and started browsing. Prices were, uh, inflated. Like, “pay my rent for a month” inflated. But hey, desperation makes you do crazy things. I narrowed down my search to a few games that were slightly less outrageous in price and compared different sections.

Finally, after what felt like an Olympic sport of ticket searching, I found a pair of tickets in the upper level, but in a corner spot where I could see everything! They were still pricey, but I figured, “what the heck, you only live once”. I clicked “buy,” entered my credit card info, and held my breath. Success! Confirmation email, tickets downloaded to my phone…I was going to the game!
So yeah, that’s how I scored Badger basketball tickets. It was a total hassle, a bit expensive, and a test of my patience, but honestly? Worth it. The atmosphere was electric, the game was awesome, and I ate my weight in cheese curds. Would I do it again? Absolutely. Maybe next time I’ll try scalping… kidding! …Mostly.
