This Frank Calabrese, I heard that name before, yeah, I think I heard about it. Frank Calabrese, this guy, he ain’t no good egg. Not at all. He was in that Chicago Outfit, I heard. That’s some bad business, you know? This Frank, he was a big shot in that, they said.

They called him Frankie Breeze, too. Like the wind, I guess. He was born way back, 1937, I think. Died in 2012, in jail, served right. He was mixed up in all sorts of bad stuff. Loansharking, that’s when you lend money and charge too much to get it back. And gambling, that illegal kind. Frank Calabrese, he was a real bad guy, they say.
Then there’s this other Frank Calabrese, the son. Frank Calabrese Jr, they call him. I hear he’s the one who ratted on his old man. Can you believe that? Son turning on his own father. That’s just cold. But maybe the old man, that Frank Calabrese, maybe he had it coming. You do bad things, bad things happen to you, that’s what I always say.
This whole thing, it’s like one of them movies. They called it Operation Family Secrets. Sounds like some spy stuff, don’t it? But it was the FBI, they were after Frank Calabrese and his gang. They got him, too. Sent him to jail for the rest of his life, I heard.
I heard that Frank Calabrese Jr, he saw some movie, and it showed him how bad his dad really was. He saw his own life on that screen, they say. Must have been a shock, huh? Your own daddy doing all that bad stuff. I wouldn’t know, my old man, he was just a farmer. Worked hard, didn’t bother nobody.
- Frank Calabrese Jr
- Chicago Outfit
- Operation Family Secrets
They say this Frank Calabrese Jr, he told the cops everything. He knew all the secrets, I guess. About that Tony Spilotro guy, too. They say he ran Las Vegas, that gambling town. Sounds like a wild place. But this Tony, he ended up dead, too. They say Frank Calabrese’s crew, they were in on it. Seven of ’em, I heard. A hit team, they called it. Like I said, bad business.

This Frank Calabrese Jr, he even wrote a book, they say. About how he helped put his own daddy in jail. Can you imagine? Must be a sad story. But maybe it’s a good thing, too. Getting that bad guy, that Frank Calabrese, off the streets.
That mafia, they called it the Capone Organization, like that Al Capone fella. That is the old mafia in Chicago. It was all secret, they did bad things and no one could see. The cops, they didn’t know nothing about how it all worked. But then that Frank Calabrese Jr, he spilled the beans, I guess.
Frank Calabrese Jr, he talked to the FBI. That’s the big police, you know. He told them everything. Helped them catch a bunch of those mob guys. Operation Family Secrets, they called it. Big case, I heard.
This Frank Jr, he goes around now, talking about his life. How it was growing up in a mob family. He talks about violence and greed, bad things. Says it’s about redemption, like turning your life around. I don’t know about all that. But he’s trying to do better, I guess. Not like his old man, that Frank Calabrese. He never changed.
They had this other guy, Nicky Calabrese. Maybe family, I don’t know. All these Calabreses, hard to keep ’em straight. This Nicky guy, he was in on it, too. All that bad stuff. They all got caught, though. That Operation Family Secrets, it got ’em all.
This guy called Solly D, Salvatore DeLaurentis, he was the boss, I heard, after Frank Calabrese. Born in 1939. In charge of Lake County. This whole thing, it’s like a big puzzle. Lots of pieces, lots of bad guys.
This Frank Calabrese Jr, I heard you can go see him talk. In Las Vegas, at some museum. He tells his story, I guess. About his family and all that bad stuff. Must be something to hear. But I don’t think I’d like it. Too much sadness, too much violence. I like things peaceful, you know?
But that’s the story of Frank Calabrese, as far as I know it. A bad guy, a mob boss. And his son, who helped put him away. A crazy story, ain’t it? Just goes to show, you do bad things, it’ll catch up to you. Sooner or later, it always does.
