Man, keeping track of footballers’ birthdays used to be a real pain. I’d scribble them down in notebooks, on scraps of paper, even on my hand sometimes (don’t judge!). It was a mess, and I’d always end up losing half the info. So, I decided to get a bit more organized.

The Hunt Begins
First, I just started Googling around. You know, “famous footballers birthdays” and stuff like that. I found some websites that listed a few, but nothing comprehensive. It was all scattered.
Spreadsheet Time
Then, I figured, okay, spreadsheet time. I opened up a new Google Sheet – nice and simple. I made columns for “Name,” “Date of Birth,” and “Team” (just to be extra organized, haha).
Data Entry Madness
This is where the real work started. I spent hours, seriously, hours, copying and pasting birthdates from various websites. My eyes started to cross, I swear. But I was determined to get this done.
- Find a player’s name.
- Scour the internet for their birthday.
- Copy it.
- Paste it into the spreadsheet.
- Repeat… a million times.
Cleaning Up the Mess
Of course, not all websites are created equal. Some had dates formatted differently (like, day/month/year versus month/day/year – ugh!). So, I had to go back and standardize everything. That took a while, let me tell you.
I made to standarlize all date into one format.
Feeling Accomplished
But finally, I had a pretty decent list! It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I’m missing some players, but it’s way better than my old system of random notes. Now, whenever I need to know a footballer’s birthday, I just open up my spreadsheet. Boom! Done.
It’s still a work in progress, though. I’ll probably keep adding to it as I come across more players. Maybe someday I’ll even create a fancy database or something. But for now, this spreadsheet is my trusty sidekick.
