So, I saw this whole thing blowing up online about the FIA looking into Mercedes, specifically Toto Wolff and his wife. I got curious and wanted to see what was going on myself.

First, I went looking for the initial announcement. Turns out, the FIA dropped a statement on Tuesday saying they were investigating a possible information leak to some team principal, but they didn’t name any names. Classic move, right?
Then I dug a little deeper and saw that Mercedes was all over this. They were saying that this whole investigation was connected to some “off-record briefing” and that it somehow involved Toto Wolff. Of course, they were not happy about it. They put out their own statement saying the FIA was acting on “unsubstantiated allegations” and that they hadn’t even gotten any official communication about the investigation. It sounded like a total mess.
My Digging Process
- Started with the basics: I searched for the FIA’s initial statement to get their side of the story.
- Checked out Mercedes’ reaction: I looked up how Mercedes responded to the allegations, which, as you can imagine, was pretty strong.
- Looked at some news: Of course I looked at some news about Formula One teams beginning to comment on the investigation, also I saw that Susie Wolff filed a criminal complaint against FIA.
- Considered the Ineos deal: I remembered that Mercedes recently made a deal with Ineos, so I thought about how that might play into this situation.
What a headache. The whole thing is so confusing. What a shame. After I read Susie Wolff’s complaint, I suddenly got shocked. I felt bad for her. Poor her. I hope this thing can be figured out soon.
Anyway, that’s how I spent my evening, trying to make sense of this F1 drama. Just another day in the life, I guess.
