Alright, so I wanted to mess around with some baseball data, specifically looking at the 2021 Oakland A’s. I’ve always been a bit of a stats nerd, and I figured this would be a fun little project.

First, I needed to find the data. I spent a bit of time poking around different websites. It took a little while, it wasn’t like it was just sitting there waiting for me!

Gathering the Data

I started digging through the internet. Honestly, It feels kinda messy and not so intuitive.

Wrangling the Data

Once I get the data, I saved them.

I opened up the file, and started to look at it. I wanted to see:

  • Wins and Losses: Basic, but gives you the overall picture.
  • Key Players: See who really carried the team.
  • Anything Interesting: Just kinda poke around and see if anything jumps out.

I started playing around with the tables. I found out information of Wins and Losses, and key players.

So yeah, that’s basically what I did. It wasn’t super complicated, but it was a fun way to spend an afternoon and learn a little bit more about the 2021 A’s. I might try this again with another team, or maybe dive deeper into some more advanced stats. We’ll see!
