Man, what a mess this season has turned into. The Eagles, my team, they just keep finding ways to lose. It’s like they’ve forgotten how to play the game. I mean, seriously, it’s getting painful to watch.

So, last night’s game, I settled in, ready for some football. Started off okay, I guess. But then, it all went downhill, again. We were playing against the Falcons, not exactly a powerhouse team, and we still managed to blow it. There was this one moment, we were down at their 10-yard line, and what did we do? We kicked a field goal! A field goal! We needed a touchdown, and we settled for three points. That’s just not how you win games.
And our defense? Don’t even get me started. It felt like they were letting the other team score whenever they wanted. One of our safeties, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, he got ejected. Two penalties, just like that, he was gone. And after that, forget it. Washington, I mean they started scoring touchdowns like it was nothing. They marched down the field three times after that, real long drives, 61, 87, and 57 yards, and got touchdowns each time. We just couldn’t stop them.
Later in the game, I watched our quarterback, Donovan McNabb, throw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Greg Lewis. That gave us a little hope, cutting their lead down to 24-21. But did we build on that? Nope. We just couldn’t get anything going after that.
Remember when we were 10-1? Feels like a lifetime ago. Now we’re sitting at 10-3 after losing badly to the 49ers and the Cowboys, it feels terrible. And I remember hearing our coach after another bad loss, I think it was against the Saints, saying something like, “We’ll get it fixed.” But honestly, I’m starting to doubt it.
I checked some stats and saw we had a pretty good shot at winning the Super Bowl at the start of the season, the odds were +700, which is like a 12.5% chance, but now, I don’t know. I heard some people talking about coaching changes and losing players during the off-season. It’s like, everything that made us good last year, we lost it all.
- Coaching Changes: We had some good coaches last year, Shane Steichen and Johnathan Grenard, they were the main guys calling the plays, but they’re gone now.
- Lost Key Players: We lost some good players too, especially on defense.
- Penalties: We’re getting way too many penalties. It’s killing us.
- No Consistency: We have a good play here and there, but we can’t keep it going for a whole game.
Look, I know it’s a new season, a different team, but it’s just frustrating. We show flashes of being good, but then we just fall apart. I really hope they can turn things around, but right now, it’s looking pretty rough. Being an Eagles fan this year, is tough. Man, I just want to see them win again. But how can we get there? I don’t know any more.
